Dagenham, 1968. In the Ford factory the male workers’ conditions far exceed those of their female co-workers who are angry at working in impoverished conditions for long, thankless hours. Their reclassification as ‘unskilled’ workers is the final straw and the women go on strike. A comic portrayal of difficult times that continues to resonate in 2010.

Reviews
“A perky tale of Ford factory seamstresses marches in line with a great Britcom tradition. […] the breeziest film you can imagine about risking everything for a fairer slice of the pie.” Tim Robey, The Telegraph
“There is something refreshingly old-fashioned about Made In Dagenham, a lively and delightfully performed British film […] There are fine performances all round. Bob Hoskins is terrific as the union man with a twinkle in his eye as the women fight their corner; Daniel Mays is engaging as Rita’s supportive but rather old-fashioned husband, and Rosamund Pike is striking as the more upper-class woman” Mark Adams, Screen International
