Look at Me

Directed by Agnès Jaoui

The team that brought us LE GOÛT DES AUTRES return with another witty, sophisticated comedy. Co-author Bacri plays a successful, egotistical author, complete with fawning entourage. The only one left out is his plump eldest daughter (Berry, daughter of Josianne Balasko), lacking self-esteem and her father’s attention – to the point of an obsession that clouds all her relationships. These include her vocal teacher (Jaoui) and a potential suitor. Exploring notions of self-image, ties that do more than bind, and how fame corrupts, the film features excellent ensemble performances and a superb classical score. Winner of Best Screenplay, Cannes 2004.
