Las Brujas De Zugarramurdi

Directed by Alex de la Iglesia

Perhaps his most outrageous film to date, de la Iglesia takes his unique brand of comic horror to new heights, or perhaps depths, in this twisted battle of the sexes where men are fools and women are witches. On the run from an armed robbery fiasco slap bang in the centre of Madrid’s Puerta del Sol, Antonio (Casas), José (Silva) and his young son flee north. On entering the Basque village of Zugarramurdi, they stray into the territory of a powerful coven of witches, led by the sophisticated yet devilish Graciana (Maura), and their days seem certain to be numbered as the film escalates toward a comically grotesque finale – you have been warned!
