Judy Berlin

Directed by Eric Mendelsohn

Set in 50s suburban Long Island, New York, JUDY BERLIN is a subtly drawn character study of the denizens of this mainly Jewish neighbourhood. In the Gold family, Mama (Kahn) rattles on, Dad’s taciturn and 30-year-old son David’s an aspiring filmmaker returned from LA to continuous depression. Meanwhile at the Berlins, daughter Judy (singer Falco) is herself heading West. As a solar eclipse engulfs the town in an eerie light, the friends and neighbours are drawn closer together.
