Matty Burton (Considine) is a middleweight boxing champion. Nearing the end of his career, he needs to make money before he gets out of the game to secure a home and future for his wife Emma (Jodie Whittaker) and their baby daughter. Facing a brash, controversy-courting opponent in his final bout, Matty suffers a serious injury and awaking from a coma finds himself taking on the greatest challenge of his life. A valuable British addition to the boxing movie genre, Considine’s second feature as director retains the integrity and realism of Tyrannosaur.
