A junior high school girl is caught shoplifting at a local supermarket and is chased down the street by the shop manager, Naoto. When the thief runs out into the road, she is hit by a car and dies. Having brought up the girl alone, her father, Mitsuru, cannot accept the accident nor the fact that his daughter was stealing. While the media focuses on the girl’s death, Mitsuru starts hunting down the ones to blame.

One of the Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme’s regular directors, Keisuke Yoshida demonstrates his skill for exploring human behaviour and psychology in this poignant film which reflects on contemporary notions of sin, deception and forgiveness.
