Holy Motors

Directed by Leos Carax

Leos Carax’s eccentric and kaleidoscopic Holy Motors was the talk of this year’s Cannes Film Festival where it was in competition for the Palme d’or. This fascinating feature sees Carax’s long-time collaborator Denis Lavant as a shadowy character who segues between different parallel lives: at one point he’s an assassin, then a beggar, a businessman and a family man. Carax creates a bizarre cinematic world that bewitches and enthrals the viewer.
