Hoff the Record

Directed by Gordon Anderson

We open Season 1 of Pilot Light TV Festival with the exclusive Season 2 premiere of UKTV’s Hoff the Record.

This critically acclaimed British comedy follows 80’s icon David Hasselhoff playing a parody of himself as The Hoff, down on his luck, relocating to England to look for new career opportunities. He is backed up by his beautifully British UK team, a morally bankrupt, sweary and inept gallery of characters akin to the slightly useless rabble in The Thick of It. Hasselhoff’s self-ridiculing performance in the show has been compared to that of Alan Partridge and Steven Toast.

The Season 2 opener follows David as he falls host to common modern celebrity narrative ‘The online death hoax’. As reports of his death spread and sales in his books, music and DVD’s spike, his manager tries to keep a very much alive David Hasselhoff hidden in a semi-detached Watford safe-house at all costs.
