The debut directorial feature of actor Harry Macqueen, Hinterland is a poignant road movie that casts an affectionate nod or two towards Radio On. The narrative concerns two friends who set out on a journey from London to Devon and back again and from this simple premise tenderly observes missed opportunities and the fickle nature of relationship of love. Self-funded through a small windfall the director received, it’s works like this that speak of the true diversity in British cinema today. A tale infused with a wistful, tender longing, it also features superb performances by the director and singer-turned-actress Lori Campbell.
This screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Harry Macqueen.
