Hansen is a double agent working for the East German secret police. He has infiltrated a company operating as a front for US military intelligence as they prepare for an attack on the GDR, and is tasked with stealing classified, top-secret documents. When Hansen’s American boss suspects he has a spy within his ranks, the double agent is asked to take a lie detector test.
This spy thriller was a hit with East German audiences in 1963, thanks to a plot that drew loosely on real events from 1956.
