Matt Damon headlines a cast that includes Kristen Wiig, Christoph Waltz, Hong Chau, Laura Dern and Alec Baldwin in Alexander Payne’s whip-smart sci-fi social satire about a man who chooses to shrink himself (literally) to simplify his life. An ingenious work with moments of high comedy, like much of Payne’s work the film also offers an astute social portrait and sounds a warning signal for a world rapidly heading towards ecological oblivion.
