Create Salford Short Film Showcase: Programme 2

Join the University of Salford for this evening showcasing the very best of this year’s moving image work. The selection of shorts from both undergraduate and postgraduate students will feature documentary films from across the School of Arts & Media. This screening will be taking place as part of the University’s annual Create Salford celebrations and delivered in partnership with HOME.

Films screening are:

Falconry

Falconry documents an illegal Falcon hunting trip in the western Egyptian desert, telling the story of how and why Bedouins hunt falcons. This tradition is an art, and a lucrative business. The Egyptian authority is trying to stamp out this tradition. However, behind the scenes there are long term efforts to stem this illegal act. So, will the tradition continue despite it being a crime?

In the Hot Seat

In the Hot Seat is an exploration of Manchester’s Cotton Industry through the eyes of the women that lived through it. The story is pulled into the present through Steady Hands, a play created by a local theatre company. In the Hot Seat brings together women, young and old, using an experience that is timeless: the bond of female friendship.

Invisible Black
