Téchiné’s latest is a psychological drama, co-written with IRMA VEP director Olivier Assayas. The story explores a troubled affair between a musician and her young lover. Martin (Loret) is a model whose past contains secrets still affecting his life and ultimately his sanity. Alice (Binoche) fights to understand and support him against the pain of his growing mental illness. Veteran director Téchiné elicits strong performances from the cast to create a compassionate and powerful emotional force at the heart of the film.
