As the pivotal character appearing in nearly every scene, prolific sevillano actor Antonio Dechent is the driving force of this perfectly pitched study of a desperate salesman facing financial ruin. His rapid moral decline makes captivating viewing, and his brilliant performance is well supported by María Valverde (Ladrones) and Hollywood star Nick Nolte.

As a one-time salesman himself, director Xavi Puebla describes his theme as the tyranny of work and money coupled with merciless generational change, with characters from another era struggling to save themselves without sullying their souls.

A puerta fría won Best Actor and the Critics Award at the Malaga Spanish Film Festival 2012.
