A Blonde in Love

Directed by Milos Forman

Before he moved to Hollywood, Forman was an exponent of the Czech New Wave. The leaders of a town organise a military dance so that their young women can find husbands. But the night’s only pairing is between a pretty young blonde and the pianist from the visiting band. Until she unexpectedly pays a call on his folks and things become a bit complicated. Allowing the mostly non-professional actors to improvise, Forman mixes moments of comedy and poignancy with a deft touch.
