The Berwick Street Collective followed up their seminal Nightcleaners with another film that once again utilised an unconventional and challenging film form.
36 to 77 focuses on one of the women from the nightcleaners campaign and strike, Myrtle Wardally. In a series of time lapse portraits and audio recordings, she reflects on her childhood in Grenada, the comradeship of the cleaners in struggle, the burdens of childbirth and childcare, and her isolation in a disinterested world.
