A special preview of acclaimed Chinese director Jia Zhangke’s forthcoming docu-drama 24 CITY. Blending real-life testimonies and actors’ reenactments, 24 CITY recounts the social changes taking place in contemporary China, focusing on the destruction of industrial centres and subsequent development of the ’24 city’s’ high-rise luxury apartments.

Screening introduced by Dr Felicia Chan (Research Institute for Cosmopolitan Cultures, University of Manchester) and supported by the Confucius Institute at The University of Manchester.
