The setting of Frances Blythe’s photographs is ‘any place’ Britain. The houses featured in the images seem built to the design of a child’s drawing; this could be suburbia at its most ordinary. Despite the lack of people in the frame, a claustrophobic sense of human presence pervades each tense image. Frances Blythe was selected for Bloomberg New Contemporaries in 2009. She has since graduated from an MA Fine Art at Manchester Metropolitan University and is based at Rogue Studios, Manchester.
