Women in Film

This course explores the roles of women in film production and consumption, using a wide range of case studies from filmmakers such as Kathryn Bigelow, Jane Campion and Gurinder Chadha. Women’s role in film genres such as action, film noir, and romantic comedy will also be considered alongside wider questions of the role of gender in the film industry.

Beginners’ level – no prior knowledge necessary.
