Tuesday Talk: Raimi Gbadamosi

Gbadamosi is an artist, curator and writer. He received his doctorate from the Slade School of Fine Art, researching the use of black people in British Advertising. Raimi’s work investigates the complexity of social and cultural politics, challenging views of ethnicity, race and culture. He is aware of the use of labelling and the power of language often choosing to address issues in a playful way using humor.Co-ordinated by Prof. Pavel Büchler of the Faculty of Art & Design at Manchester Metropolitan University in collaboration with Cornerhouse, the talks address the driving forces within contemporary art and visual culture, and the sources of inspiration behind individual artist’s practices.
