This tour will begin just outside Cornerhouse main entrance
A specially commissioned tour from award winning guide Jonathan Schofield takes us around places of significance for Marx and Engels, whilst incorporating other elements of Manchester’s radical political history. This tour shows how the first industrial society shaped the men whose ideas would change the planet. The tour lasts a maximum of two hours and includes a visit to the 600-year-old Chetham’s Library where the famous duo studied. Jonathan Schofield is a historian and journalist, including editor of Manchester Confidential.
Tour/ Engels and Marx in Manchester is part of Abandon Normal Devices, produced by Cornerhouse, FACT and folly. See the full programme on the AND festival website
