We are pleased to welcome actor Viggo Mortensen and director Hossein Amini for this special advance preview of The Two Faces of January.

The Two Faces of January was adapted by Academy Award nominee Hossein Amini from Patricia Highsmith’s book of the same name. This suspense thriller it is also the directorial debut from Hossein Amini starring Viggo Mortensen, Kirsten Dunst and Oscar Isaac.

Since his screen debut as a young Amish farmer in director Peter Weir’s Witness, Viggo Mortensen’s movie-acting career has been marked by a steady string of diverse performances. Critics have continually recognized his work in more than 40 films, including The Road, Good, Appaloosa, Eastern Promises, A History of Violence,  Alatriste, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, A Walk on the Moon, Portrait of a Lady, La Pistola de Mi Hermano, Carlito’s Way, The Indian Runner, and The Reflecting Skin, to name a few. Mortensen’s lead performance in David Cronenberg’s Eastern Promises saw him nominated for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and a BAFTA.

In 2002, he founded Perceval Press, an independent publishing house specializing in art, poetry, and critical writing. Perceval’s mission is to publish texts, images, and recordings that might not otherwise be presented. Mortensen’s books of photography and writing are available through Perceval Press.

Iranian-born screenwriter Hossein Amini was nominated for a BAFTA and an Oscar in 1998 for his adaptation of Henry James’ classic novel Wings of a Dove, which starred Helena Bonham Carter, Linus Roach and Alison Elliott. Amini has also written the screenplay for the 1996 release Jude, which starred Kate Winslet and Christopher Eccleston, which won the Edinburgh Film Festival prize for Best British Film. Other credits include the 2002 release The Four Feathers, with Heath Ledger and Killshot (2008). In 2011, Amini wrote the screenplay for Drive, which starred Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan. Drive was nominated for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival and was also nominated for Best Film at the BAFTAs 2012.
