We normally watch films – on this course we are going to listen to them. This introductory course focuses on sound, the most fleeting of film elements. Using a wide range of examples from early to contemporary sound film we will unpick some of the complexities of this exciting film dimension and explore how it interacts with the image to produce meaning.
