Stuart and Paul’s 50 Minute Film School

What do the creator of WALLACE AND GROMIT, the writer of Life On Mars and the director of HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX have in common?

Well, they were all former graduates of the National Film and Television School (NFTS), the most advanced academy for film and TV talent in the UK. If that all sounds a bit lofty, this event will show you how it is possible to progress if you have ambition and dedication.

Stuart Bentley, a Manchester skateboard filmmaker who is currently studying cinematography at the NFTS will give a student’s perspective while Paul Green, the school’s Talent Scout will give tips on how emerging filmmakers can show their talent in the best light. Stuart will screen clips ranging from the skate shorts that won him his place at the NFTS to recent music videos he’s directed, illustrating his journey from Manchester to MTV, while Paul will answer questions from the audience reflecting on common mistakes he sees in new work and how to avoid them. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and this event should get your brain whirring over your own future – does Film School await you?
