This study morning will look at relevant themes including family, friendship, rural Spain, and the consequences of the crisis in Spain.
Carmen Herrero will introduce the film in English, providing contextual information, key Spanish phrases and relevant vocabulary. The screening will include English subtitles and will be followed by a series of Spanish language exercises based on the film and its characters.

Twenty-year-old Alma has a special relationship with her grandfather Ramón, who stopped talking about 12 years ago after his son, Alma’s father, sold an ancient and beloved olive tree. Alma resolves to find the tree to save her grandfather from his ever-deepening melancholia. Discovering it was acquired by a Germany company, she sets off with her uncle Alcachofa and friend Rafa on a road trip with unexpected consequences for everyone.
