This tour and discussion looks at Whitworth Art Gallery’s recent re-hanging of its permanent collection of modern art and the influence of some of these seminal works on contemporary artists involved in Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2007 at Cornerhouse.
Leanne Manfred and Chris Clarke will lead a tour which examines how post-modernism has re-worked and integrated the themes and styles of modern art, appropriating this material into a new context. This event will begin at Whitworth Art Gallery, with participants then walking to Cornerhouse.
