Using diverse case studies from filmmakers such as Terence Davies (the long day closes), Bill Douglas (my ain folk) and Jonathan Caouette (tarnation),students on this five week course will discuss the representation of memory, truth and perception in autobiographical filmmaking. The course will focus on personal narratives and will assess the ways in which the personal can become the universal.
