Richard Fontaine presents Hip Hop History

To accompany the Urbis exhibition, Home Grown: the Story of UK Hip Hop, cult documentary director Richard Fontaine brings two of his most influential films, Beat This!: A Hip Hop History and Bombin’, for an exclusive screening and Q&A session.

Home Grown: The Story of UK Hip-Hop is an exhibition showing at Urbis, from October 2009 – March 2010, focusing on the wonderful, unpredictable story of UK hip-hop: a music and culture that dragged itself up from the streets to change the face of British music and style. Looking back over three decades, the exhibition tells the story of how a generation of youth took the spirit of the Bronx block party and fused it with their own uniquely British influences. Working with the UK’s most influential figures in Hip Hop the Home Grown exhibition brings together the rare, remarkable and irreplaceable in Hip Hop photography, music, film and fashion.

We are delighted to be welcoming Richard Fontaine for this one-off exclusive event.
