Read Manchester BookBench Project Comes to HOME

HOME is committed to promoting reading in Manchester and we are delighted to be part of the Read Manchester BookBench Project.

Book-shaped benches have been decorated by schools and community groups with designs inspired by books and reading. This summer, they will be displayed in various venues across the city.

3 BookBenches are on display here at HOME:

Chorlton Park Primary School – ‘Come read with me’
Cringle Brook Primary School – ‘Read for pleasure, read for life’
Saviour C of E Primary School – ‘Giraffes can’t dance’

Families are encouraged to follow the trail and children can complete literacy activities that link to the themes of some of the benches.

Read Manchester is a campaign from Manchester City Council and the National Literacy Trust to promote reading and boost literacy levels throughout the city.
