Playreading: Friday 6 Dec

Our popular Playreading group meets on the first Friday of most months at HOME. The sessions, which are open to all, offer an opportunity to read and discuss plays that are linked to our theatre productions. The sessions are fun, friendly and informal and new members are always welcome.

The sessions offer an opportunity to read and discuss contemporary and classic plays.

Manchester based actor and theatre maker, Sam Ward, facilitates the play reading sessions. A graduate of the MFA Theatre Directing at Birkbeck College, University of London, Sam is lead artist in YESYESNONO theatre company and has written and performed the award winning Five Encounters on a Site Called Craigslist and [insert slogan here], both of which toured nationally following success at Edinburgh Fringe. Sam has recently directed Mighty Heart’s BINGE! and performed in Swim at HOME in July 2019. YESYESNONO’s latest show the accident did not take place is at HOME in September as part of Orbit Festival. Sam spent a year as resident assistant director at HOME assisting on hit shows such as Polly Findley’s Ghosts and Richard Beecham’s Rose.
