Participatory Theatre: Politics & Ethics

Are you interested in, or engaged in making, theatre which involves the audience getting involved in some way? Theatre director, dramaturg and researcher Zoë Svendsen will be talking about the process of making World Factory, in order to open up an exploration of what kinds of invitation to audiences’ participation can involve.

The session will look at the ethical implications for audience experience in interactive theatre? What tacit politics are promoted through the decisions around how the audience interacts with the work? Why make participatory theatre?

The session will centre on a discussion emerging out of these questions, to explore the ethics and politics of participation.
