For one weekend only, S Mark Gubb presents The 5 Codes Tours, a specially created piece for Cornerhouse. Gubb who works across a range of media including sculpture, video, sound, installation and performance, has devised a series of five unique thirty minute tours that take you ‘behind the scenes’ at Cornerhouse. Referencing the five codes that exist to describe a country’s alert status in relation to the risk of terror attacks: green (low), blue (guarded), yellow (elevated), orange (high), red (severe), Gubb has colour coded each tour accordingly. This is a rare opportunity and will include a few surprises along the way.
This event is part of Out of Bounds, a season of art events taking place at Cornerhouse, the ICA, Tate Modern and a number of other contemporary art spaces. All of the activities employ hidden, backstage and non-public sites at the participating institutions, spaces that are already ‘owned’ by the public but which the public cannot usually see.
S Mark Gubb mines contemporary culture, placing the seemingly familiar in relation with the incompatible, to provoke us to consider our contribution to the world we live in.
Each thirty minute event begins at the following times:
Sat 27 September: 1.00pm, 2.00pm, 3.00pm
Sun 28 September: 4.00pm, 5.00pm
