In light of the Government’s latest advice for people to avoid non-essential contact, we have taken the decision to close HOME to the public as of Tuesday 17 March.
This means that the Manchester Open 2020 has had to close earlier than we expected. This is disappointing, however the health and safety of our staff, visitors, artists and volunteers is of utmost importance to us, and we believe given the current national landscape it is not viable to remain open to the public at this time.
We don’t know yet exactly how long this closure will last, but it will be at least until the end of March 2020.
During this period, it is critical that we continue to support artists and creative partners. We are determined that Manchester’s incredible culture will emerge from this challenge stronger and more vibrant than ever.
There’s the Manchester Open, and now there’s the REMIX. Come and celebrate our last Open House Thursday. Kiss Me Again DJs will be remixing the sound and IMPA TV will be remixing the exhibition all over the gallery walls. Both these Manchester Icons will be filling the gallery with sites and sounds anew. As Kiss Me Again Say “bring the vibes and ditch the prejudice” for our final Thursday Open House.
Each Thursday as part of the Manchester Open Exhibition we will be hosting a series of takeovers and interventions by a variety of artists, groups and performers. Including performance work submitted for the Manchester Open, and invited artistic responses.
The gallery will be open until 21:00 on Thursday evenings so you can enjoy the exhibition outside of standard gallery opening times.
