One Hour Intro: Wim Wenders

An illustrated introduction to Wim Wenders, arguably the best-known German film-maker alive today. Working both in Germany and America, Wenders has been inspired by the films of John Ford and intrigued by genres such as the road movie and the gangster film which he has used and invested with his own vision.

With these influences in the background, this talk will concentrate on Wenders’ lone male protagonist and his earlier films’ strong sense of place and history
