In this illustrated talk, Emma Leather will discuss the development of Catalan film, looking particularly at post-Franco productions, issues of language and Cataluña’s cultural legacy. With Catalan films such as Manuel Huerga’s SALVADOR taking centre stage at this year’s ¡Viva!, this talk provides the perfect opportunity to find out more and celebrate Catalan cinema.

Led by Emma Leather. Emma Leather is a PhD student at Manchester Metropolitan University. Her research examines themes of documentary and memory in films by Catalan directors Marc Recha and José Luis Guerín.
