To whet you appetite for the fantastic array of events that will be taking place around the time of Manchester’s Victoria Baths’ centenary celebrations, The Bigger Picture will begin its homage to the historic site by screening works that have been supported by the Baths’ arts programme.

theybreakinpieces are an experimental arts collective involved in multiple forms of cross-disciplinary collaboration. They are currently developing a new working method for a range of environmental interactions conducted through the media of conversation, improvised performance, and audio-visual recording technologies. Their interventions take place in a wide range of urban and rural environments, one of which was Victoria Baths. Video footage documents their process in developing and performing what was a durational experimental sound event in 2005.

Also don’t miss the return of Push the Button by Working for a Nuclear Free City, Director Robert Kind. Premiered at exposures National Student Film Festival in 2005, this powerful whirl-wind of a music video was part shot in Victoria Baths and originated from exposures Music Video Night strand where twelve filmmakers were given three weeks to script, shoot and edit an original music video for a established and emerging North West bands – having exclusive permission from all bands to make their official video.
