In January we continue our annual retrospective of British screenwriters. This time we dust off the work of writer and actor Neville Smith. Renowned for sharply humorous scripts that often included a hefty dose of left-wing politics, today Smith is perhaps best known for his screenplay for the Albert Finney starring Gumshoe, now considered something of an early 1970s British classic.
