What is Article 50 and who wrote the other 49? Young Identity explore My Country, post-Brexit, in a curtain raiser performance directed by Desiree Reynolds and Nicole May.
Young Identity is a project run by Commonword, bringing young people together through the writing and performing of poetry and prose. Participants from Young Identity wrote in response to material gathered by the National Theatre for My Country and explored their own feelings following the referendum.
This short performance will take place on stage before the evening and matinee performances of My Country on Saturday 22 April.
In the days following the Brexit vote, a team from the National Theatre spoke to people nationwide, aged 9 to 97, to hear their views on the country we call home. In a series of deeply personal interviews, they heard opinions that were honest, emotional, funny, and sometimes extreme. My Country puts their words centre stage.
