Mothers Who Make Nov 2016

Mothers Who Make is a peer support group and creative exchange session for mothers who are artists – professional and/or passionate – writers, painters, actors, dancers, filmmakers, photographers…every kind of maker welcome, and every kind of mother. Please feel free to bring along your children, of any age, whether they are inside you, beside you or running round the room!

Every month we invite a guest speaker to our session. This month we welcome Clare Cameron.

Clare Cameron is a mum and an actor. She founded Abooo Theatre in April after being inspired by the very first Manchester Mothers Who Make meeting in January 2016 and the recent PIPA campaign. She’s since been completely overwhelmed by the incredible level of enthusiasm for Abooo and the support and guidance received from HOME, The Lowry, Royal Exchange Theatre and 3Space.

Abooo recently held a baby-friendly rehearsed reading here at HOME in our café, complete with actors’ kids. Clare and her fellow Abooo-ers are also appearing at the Royal Exchange Theatre as part of the B!RTH Festival in Oct 2016.
