May half term events at HOME

Enjoy out-of-this world fun at HOME this half term, with Space themed activities for all the family.

Throughout May half term, there’ll be a Space crossword activity throughout the building – pick up a crossword from Box Office, find the planets and complete the crossword.

Join us on Tue 30 May as we launch our new Creativity Corner for families.

Make a self-celebration mask, create your own story with our Story Maker and have your portrait drawn by community artist and storyteller, Phoebe Foxtrot.

Enjoy a special reading of the body positive, award-winning book ‘My Mum’s A Tiger,’ by author Kate Claxton.

We’ll be rounding the party off with a self-celebration boogie, so be sure to pack your dancing shoes!

The Creativity Corner will also be open all week for families to enjoy.

Take a trip across the cosmos with the Starchitects, who use a mix of gravity-defying choreography and digital projections, to transport you into another dimension.

Revisit the magic of your childhood imagination where anything is possible, and where a carboard box is only the beginning of the adventure…

Full of fun and thrilling surprises, Starchitects has a funny, easy-to-follow storyline that’s suitable for ages 3+. Starchitects is at HOME 1 – 3 Jun.

On Sat 2 Jun, Stay and Play with the Starchitects and go on a free, fun-packed journey with themed games and guided activities after the show.

Blast off with the Muppets in Space on Thu 1 Jun, at a special family-friendly screening (booking opens 19 May)

When Gonzo receives a message that his relatives are coming for a visit from outer space, a secret government agency captures Gonzo and goes to great lengths to learn when his extra-terrestrial family will arrive. Now only the Muppets, led by Kermit and Miss Piggy, can save Gonzo and make the world safe for a friendly alien invasion.

There’ll also be a free, space themed art workshop running from 10.15 – 13.15, where you’ll be able to make your own planet before or after you’ve watched the film. No need to book, drop in activity.

From the award winning author of The Boy At The Back Of The Class, Onjali Q. Raúf MBE, The Hero Next Door on Sat 3 Jun is a ground-breaking new production created especially for 7 – 10 year olds celebrating difference, friendship and working together to do the right thing.

Meet Musa, who happens to be a refugee; Haley, an autistic girl who adores frogs; and a would-be bully by the name of Melody. This unlikely bunch come together to save an elderly neighbour from a con-woman posing as a carer, with thrilling and hilarious results.

We also have a childrens’ menu in our first floor restaurant, plus snack options in our ground floor cafe.
