Manchester Open Door Tours: Greg Thorpe and Sarah-Joy Ford

Join Greg Thorpe and Sarah-Joy Ford for the first Open Tour.

To begin our amazing Open Door Tour Programme Greg Thorpe and Sarah-Joy Ford both of the Queer Artist’s Talking Circle welcome you to explore the Manchester Open through a cosmically queer lens. The tour will be open and relaxed, come along and be inspired.

Greg Thorpe is a writer, curator, artist and creative producer in Manchester. He organises the Queer Artist Talking Circle, works for the artist community at Islington Mill in Salford, and also runs Superbia, the LGBT+ arts programme for Manchester Pride. He writes about contemporary art and culture, and also writes fiction. Click here to visit Greg’s website.

Sarah-Joy Ford is an artist and researcher currently based at Manchester School of Art where she is a co-director of the Queer Research Network Manchester and a member of the Proximity Collective. Recent exhibitions include Oranges are not the only fruit, British Textile Biennale (Accrington Library), Rebel Dykes Art and Archive Show, Space Station Sixty-Five (London) and Change Every Thing, Depot (London) and 20-20; A Brief Survey, Saatchi Other Art Fair (Truman Brewery). Funded projects include: The GuildCut Cloth: Contemporary Textiles and Feminism and Hard Craft. Her work has been commissioned by The Yorkshire Year of the TextilesProcessions: a hundred years of suffrage, The Pitt Rivers Museum and Superbia. She is the recipient of a NWCDTP Award for her PhD research on quilt making and lesbian archives. Click here to visit Sarah’s website.
