Manchester Folk Festival 2018: Macramé plant hanger workshop with Clare Locker

Macramé is seeing a surging revival in its popularity. Discover this fabulously versatile craft with Manchester textile artist Clare Locker.

This inexpensive craft requires few tools besides a pair of scissors, and once you’ve mastered the basics you’ll soon be flying, creating beautiful pieces for your home. In this 2 hour workshop you will learn a range of basic macramé knots and be guided in how to use them to create a beautiful macramé plant hanger. All materials are provided including natural wooden hoop, 5mm natural macramé rope, and all tools required.

The workshop is suitable for beginners, no previous experience is necessary.

This event is part of Manchester Folk Festival – an urban folk festival. It takes place over 18-21 October 2018, in an around HOME and the city centre. Over the autumn weekend, they present an exhilarating range of events, with the spotlight on English folk.
