Photographer John Perivolaris is undertaking a journey from Manchester to Algeria in order to explore the links – old and new – between the UK, France, and Algeria, once France’s most prized colony, and now a key strategic partner for each of the former colonial powers.
Join us on Fri 4 June for a informal launch event in our Galleries, as John talks about the aims for North To North, and how you can get involved, before we send him on his way south, via France to Algeria.
You will be able to follow John’s progress during his journey through his blog. His project will form the basis of an installation in the exhibition New Cartographies: France-Algeria-UK, to be staged at Cornerhouse in April-June 2011.
