This wide ranging talk will introduce you to the often weird and occasionally wild world of Latin American horror cinema. Through Mexican, Argentinean and Chilean film clips you will experience (from a safe distance): vampires ancient and modern, crazed nuns, bewitched mirrors, monstrous beings seeking revenge on the descendents of the Inquisition, and sex mad teenagers getting ‘what they deserve’! All this will be combined with a heady mix of critical insights and your observations. Come along and ‘believe’ what you see before your eyes.
