This short, practical course will provide a basic introduction to the rudiments of scriptwriting. Each week will cover key elements including characterisation, dialogue and setting. Led by writer Helen Eatock, the course will culminate in participants writing their own five minute short film script. Participants should be complete beginners and must come armed with a few simple, realisable ideas for a short film.Helen Eatock teaches on the MA Scriptwriting at the University of Salford and has written for a variety of television shows including Crossroads and Grange Hill.
