In this illustrated introduction to the season Jack Rosenthal on Jack Rosenthal Street, programmers Andy Murray and Andy Willis will explore the writer’s work, drawing out themes and ideas that reappear across his lengthy and varied career before arguing for the cultural significance of one of Manchester’s most revered artistic sons.
This talk will be followed by a screening of Jack the Lad, a 50 min 1997 episode of the BBC’s Omnibus series.
