INSET: Art & Health

Recommended for teachers of Art & Design, History of Art and Citizenship.

Capacity: 12 places.

This session provides examples of and ways to discuss art which has a purpose, and the problematics of discussing the effects of art as symbolic or real.

Through a gallery session and illustrated talk, artist Adela Jones will share her experience of work that connects art and health with examples of participatory arts projects she has worked on within this context. It will promote ways to stimulate students’ understanding of the many ways art can be used to communicate feeling, meaning and encourage understanding.

This session will be particularly useful for teachers aiming to bring students to see the PANACEAHOTHOUSE exhibition and related student session on Friday 3 November.

Led by artist Adela Jones.
