HarmonieBand present Der Golem + Live Musical Accompaniment

We are pleased to welcome back HarmonieBand for this special live accompaniment to Wegener’s 1920 magnum opus Der Golem, with a new restored print from the Murnau Foundation, and a new score by Paul Robinson.

Musicians are: Geeta Nazareth on the Viola; Dai Pritchard on Clarinet/Saxophone; and Paul Robinson on Keyboards/Accordion/Dulcimer

HarmonieBand has appeared at many UK film festivals and art centres. The ensemble has also travelled widely in Europe and including visits to the Dresden Musikfestpiele, the Giornate Del Cinema Muto in Italy and three tours of the Brabant, the last of which featured Paul Robinson’s score to Cocteau’s Le Sang d’un Poète.  In 2007, the ensemble was invited to appear alongside the Hilliard Ensemble to present Paul Robinson’s score to Carl Dreyer’s La Passione de Jeanne D’Arc in the Opera House in Wroclaw.  The performance was recorded and broadcast by Polish television. In July 2014 they were hosted by the Surrey University conference ‘Hollywood’s Musical Contemporaries and Competitors in the Early Sound Film Era’ where they performed to Carl Dreyer’s Vampyr.  They perform regularly at all major art centres in the UK including the Barbican Cinema where in 2014 they presented Dreyer’s Vampyr and in 2016 Murnau’s Nosferatu. In 2017 they toured with The End of St Petersburg in the UK and Holland ending the tour in Amsterdam’s ‘Eye’ Museum.
