Todd Haynes’ FAR FROM HEAVEN is based on two films by Douglas Sirk: ALL THAT HEAVEN ALLOWS and IMITATION OF LIFE. In her illustrated talk Maggie Höffgen will explore these ‘original’ melodramas and how they can be read as ‘progressive’.
