This talk will look at the work of artists including Andreas Gursky and Martin Parr; contemporaries of the artists shown in Do Not Refreeze, but operating in different political climates. The talk will specifically look at the artists’ responses to the global dominance of Western capitalism. Dr Mark Durden is Reader in the History and Theory of Photography at University of Derby.
